Our colleague, Eva Antal, participated in the the annual conference of the Utopian Studies Society (USS) that this year was held at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona from 9th to 12th July 2018. Lecturers and researchers specialising in the field from 40 countries worldwide presented their results and papers. From Hungary, two university teachers were invited: from ELTE, dr. Zsolt Cziganyik and from EKE, dr. habil. Eva Antal, the Professor of the Institute of English and American Studies. Our colleague was lecturing on British female utopias written in the last decade of the 19th century titled "The New Woman in the 'New Harmonies': Socialist-Feminist Utopias of 1880s-90s". Her English lecture was followed by a lively discussion in the session our colleague also chaired, as a result, together with two Polish researchers Professor Antal initiated to organise a panel in their shared project at the forthcoming conference in Bologna, in 2019. Professor Gregory Claeys, the Chair of the Society, pays special attention to the Central-European participants and, consequently, had a talk with the two Hungarian scholars. They discussed options of publications offered to doctoral students and young researchers; meanwhile, the British Professor welcomed the news that William Morris's seminal utopia, News from Nowhere, was translated and published in Eger by the Lyceum Publisher.
