Blanka Novák was awarded in the United States

Our student, Blanka Novák came fourth place in the world championship of Scientific Competitions in the United States.

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair took place in Phoenix (USA) between May 12th and May 17th 2019. Intel ISEF is the world championship scientific competitions held in different countries. Organized by Science Service, finalists come from local and national participants (approx. 1 million people) who win these Intel ISEF-related events. This year, more than 1,800 youngsters under the age of 20 were invited from more than 80 countries.

Delegated by Hungarian Association for Innovation, our student, Blanka Novák participated in ISEF with her topic called Physiological Effects of Lycium barbarum. Previously, Blanka won the 27th Young Talents in Science and Innovation and now, in the microbiology section, she came fourth in the prestigious international event and was awarded 500 dollars as well.
Intel ISEF is a two-stage event where contestants shall submit their English-language scientific project. This is followed by an exhibition where contestants shall participate in several interviews where the Scientific Committee calculates the contestants' scores. The Head of the Hungarian delegation was led by Dr. László Jakab, dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at BME. Blanka's work will also be displayed at the 28th Young Talents in Science and Innovation event. The two-day exhibition will take place on May 29th 2019 at the headquarters of Ericsson Hungary.
