Eszterházy Károly University (EKU) is one of the oldest higher educational institutions in Hungary. Opened in 1774 it has served the Northern Hungarian region for two and a half centuries. Today, EKU offers a wide variety of educational programmes at three campuses in three towns in the region. In addition to courses in the long-established fields of pedagogy, natural sciences, creative arts and humanities, students are also able to embark on undergraduate and graduate business and agricultural programmes that not only meet the present-day demands of the labour market but also allow for individual success and fulfillment. The research and knowledge centres operating under the Eszterházy banner expedite academically engaging scientific research as well as satisfying the practical needs of the region's institutions and companies.
