CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

By adopting the powers delegated by the Rector, the Centre for International Relations is an organization unit controlled by the Vice-Rector for Scientific, Research and International Affairs and the Chancellor. The sharing of control between the Vice-Rector and the Chancellor is stipulated in the Operational Provisions of the Centre for

International Relations.

CIR is managed by the Head of unit. The task of the Head is included in the Operational Provisions of the Centre for International Relations and in the job description of the Head of unit.
The Centre for International Relations shall in particular:
- organise and coordinate international relations and activities of the University
- participate in the recruitment of international students
- plan Erasmus+ programmes; handle, update and register ECHE; contact the European Commission and the National Agency; prepare and submit the main application; prepare the institutional grant contract; recommend the amount of certain scholarships; prepare the annual budget plan and create institutional reports
- contact recruitment agencies (recruiting international students)
- organise tutor, student and staff mobility including the implementation of applications
- help the research of partner institutions, contact them and coordinate the efficient use of international relations
- support foreign language communication and dissemination, active participation in welcoming international delegations

Working under the aegis of CIR, the Office of Foreign Language Competence is the association of the language teachers at the University. Managed by the Head of unit, the Office of Foreign Language Competence shall in particular:
- organise preparatory language courses for international students
- participate in activities related to international students (prepare proficiency tests for students of trainings in English, correspondence with international students, language mentoring of international students)
- organise language trainings for students of non-language majors (in full-time and part-time programmes)
- provide proficiency tests, mock exams and training counselling for secondary school students
- participate as a service provider in language trainings of adult education and other self-financing services:
- preparatory courses of state-recognised language examinations
- preparatory courses of institutional language examinations
- translation, interpretation, guiding (related to the qualification)
- active participation in the methodological renewal of the University's language education and tackle the failure of language learning
