Bursary Programme 2016 – Study in Ireland this summer

Are you interested in attending a summer school or doing research in Ireland this summer? Have you already completed studies on at least one Irish subject in your studies so far? For more details about eligibility and how to apply, please see the details and how to apply.

The Embassy of Ireland in Budapest is pleased to invite applications for our second Irish Embassy Bursary Programme, to study or research in Ireland in summer 2016.

The call for applications, which includes full details of who is eligible to apply and how to do so, can be found below. This year the Bursary Programme is expanded to include visual arts and music as qualifying subjects for study or research. This is in addition to history, society, language, literature, culture and politics.

So if you intend to do some research at an Institute in Ireland, or there is a summer school in Ireland which you would like to attend and which would benefit your studies, see if you are eligible and if you do, apply!

The deadline for completed applications is 19th February.

Application process:
The applicant must submit a set of documents, by the indicated deadline, to
Embassy of Ireland: budapestembassy@dfa.ie by both email and by post: Embassy of Ireland, 1054 Budapest, Szabadsag ter 7-9, Bank Centre, Platina II . VI floor. These shall consist of:

  • 1. Completed Official Form
  • 2. CV
  • 3. A letter of invitation from the institution where the applicant intends to pursue research or a letter from the director of the summer school the applicant intends to attend.
  • 4. Applicants intending to pursue research, must submit a research proposal signed by his/her supervisor from his/her home institution. Students aiming to attend a summer school must submit a letter of recommendation from an academic from his/her home institution.
  • 5. All applications should be submitted by email and by post and meet the given deadline.
  • Application calls are published from 21st December 2015 till 31st January 2016.
  • 6. Application deadline for scholarship: 19th February, 2016.
  • 7. Any application submitted after 19th February, 2016 will be automatically rejected.
  • 8. Official results: 17th March, 2016.
