Day-trip to Mezőkövesd

Last modified: 2016. July 18.

In the frame of the Hungarian Culture and Intercultural Awareness course, a large group of international students participated, with their teachers Judit Tóth and Ilona Hatvani, in a one day study tour in Mezőkövesd, in order to get more familiar with the Hungarian folk art, especially with the one of the Matyó region.

First, the group visited the famous Matyó Museum, and then went to the Hadas district. The young people really enjoyed their visit in Kisjankó Bori Memorial House as well as in the Creative House and Exhibition Space, run by Aranka Tábori, painter and graphic designer.

During the visits, our international students could try several traditional handcraft activities and also they could understand why Mezőkövesd is listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.

The program continued with another unique visit to the Agricultural Machine Museum and ended in the afternoon, with a pleasant "sweet" stop in the brand shop of the famous Stühmer Chocolate Factory in Maklár, near Eger.
