History of Food Conference at Eszterházy Károly University

“Food and drinks as elements of cultural heritage” was the title of the conference held on 6th November in Lyceum.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. István Monok, the General Director of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Library.


Conference participants could hear presentations in three languages: English, Italian and German. The speakers discussed wine culture, the theme of wine in the Italian painting, and even the situation of European sheep breeding. Participants could learned about the eating habits and food consumption of the Festetics family as well. The conference had 3 sections according to the three foreign languages and ended up with the audience's questions.
