International Days on Intercultural Awareness
Last modified: 2021. January 28.
A four–day-long series of international events took place last week at Eszterházy Károly University, between 2-5 May 2017.
The presentations and training sessions concentrated on enhancing international awareness among teaching and admin staff as well as students.
Those who are in frequent contact with people from other cultures need, above all, intercultural sensitivity alongside with openmindenness and interest. The intercultural workshops provided at two venues (Eger and Gyöngyös) by Dr. Rita Szaszkó Phd., Dr. Laura Furcsa Phd. and Dr. Alma Demszky Phd. hopefully have made it easier for participants to recognise and understand cultural identities and to develop individual problem-solving approaches.
The international guests represented the following higher education institutes: Krosno State College (Poland), UPN Veteran (Indonesia), II. Ferenc Rákóczi Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute (Ukraine), IMC University of Applied Sciences (Austria), Namik Kemal University (Turkey), EPLEFPA Bordeaux Gironde (France), Adnan Menderes University (Turkey).
The international days proved to be an excellent networking oppurtunity for the international guests and for the colleagues from Eszterházy Károly University.
