A large group of international students studying at Eszterházy Károly University within the frames of the Erasmus+ and Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programs traveled to Vienna on 11 December 2015.
The group consisted of 40 foreign students from 10 countries of 3 continents and 6 Hungarian ESN mentor students.
The Center for International Relations organized the trip during Advent, as the imperial city has a very special atmosphere at this time of the year.A sightseeing tour of Vienna began with Belvedere's castle, then continued with a downtown walk and a visit to Maria Theresa Square, the Parliament, the Hofburg and St. Stephen's Cathedral. From its bell tower we had a wonderful sight of the city. Special experience was to watch the Ceremonial Hall of the Austrian National Library, the world's largest historical library hall.Of course, we visited the famous Advent fairs and had a "compulsory" Christmas punch. The Central Market in front of the City Hall made the biggest impression on the students. It was particularly interesting for those foreign students who are not familiar with the Advent period.
