Call for National Higher Education Scholarship
for the academic year of 2021/22

I hereby inform you that according to Act CCIV of 2011 on National Higher Education, and to Gov.Decree 51/2007.(III.26.) (hereinafter: Government Decree) and also to amendment 1st July 2016 of Section 114/D.§ (1) and Section 114/G. § (3) of the Government Decree,

National Higher Education Scholarship is awarded by the Minister of Education for the academic year of 2021/22.

Rules for eligibility of the National Higher Education Scholarship in the academic year of 2021/22 remained unchanged: Act CCIV of 2011 on National Higher Education and Gov.Decree 51/2007. (III. 26.) on the allowances and certain fees to be paid by students in higher education still apply.
According to the Fees and Reimbursements section of EKE's Academic Regulations for Students, full-time students of Bachelor's, Master's or Undivided programmes can apply for the National Higher Education Scholarship if they have registered for at least two semesters in current or previous studies, gained at least 55 credits and had at least 4.50 weighted average.
Students shall submit an application: until July 31st, the Senate will make a proposal to the minister of education (Bachelor and Master students will be considered separately).
The National Higher Educational Scholarship is awarded by the minister in charge of education, based on the ranking of the university, which is only a suggestion from the side of EKE. The National Higher Educational Scholarship shall be awarded for a full academic year (10 months), and the scholarship's monthly amount in 2021/22 shall be HUF 40.000, according to Section 114/D Part (1) Point c) of Act CCIV of 2011 on National Higher Education.
The obtained scholarship for the academic year 2021/2022 can only be paid out in the academic year.
If the student's legal relationship is terminated or suspended for any reason, the National Higher Education Scholarship can no longer be paid to her/him. In case of studies ending in an odd semester the eligibility does not cease if the student is a continuing his / her studies in the second semester of the given academic year.
If it is established in an appeal procedure the student who has applied for a national higher education scholarship but rejected, is eligible for the national higher education scholarship but it was rejected due to an institutional procedural error, the Minister of education is entitled to award a national higher education scholarship to the student at the expense of the student's appropriation of the institution or its own revenue.
Student awarded a national higher education scholarship cannot be excluded from the scholarship grant.
Considering the requirement of equal treatment, the institution is entitled to establish and stipulate the procedure and conditions for the evaluation of scholarship applications in its own regulations. Within this framework, the institution is also entitled to determine which activities and results are considered to form the institutional ranking, which criteria are taken into account with greater or lesser weight during the assessment of applications and the establishment of the institutional ranking.

 

Application evaluation process:
1. The application sheet can be downloaded from the website of the Directorate of Education. The application shall be submitted until 5th July 2021 at the latest. CV and list of appendices shall be attached to the application. The whole application package shall be sent in a postal form the Financial and NEPTUN Office 3300 Eger Pf.:43 of the Directorate of Education.
2. Applications are evaluated by the Students' Council of EKE until 16th July 2021.
3. Considering the opinion of the Students' Council, the Senate will make a proposal to the minister of education until 31st July 2021.


Awardees of the National Higher Education Scholarship are expected to be announced by the Rector at the opening ceremony of the next academic year.
Within 15 days of the announcement, an appeal may be submitted to the Student Appeals Committee by a rejected student who has not received a scholarship due to a procedural error of the university.
