More than 70 new international students arrived in Eger for the Autumn Semester of the 2015/2016 academic year.
The students attend our institution within the frameworks of the Erasmus+ Programme, The Stipendium Hungaricum Programme, the Brazilian Science Without Borders Programme while we are also very happy to welcome Indonesian students from our partner institution in Yogyakarta.
The incoming students who arrived in September had the chance to participate in the Orientation Days held on 10th and 11th September, organised by the Center for International Relations. This year the new Erasmus+ students are from Spain, Turkey, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland and Romania and we have students from Ecuador, Vietnam, Palestine and Marocco for the first time within the frameworks of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.
The first day of the Orientation Days started with an introduction to the institution that was followed by various presentations about study-related issues, services for international students, the extracurricular activities and the local organisation of the Erasmus Student Network student association. In the afternoon students visited the main building of the university called Lyceum that is also a famous tourist site and visited the Chapel, Ceremony Hall, the institutional library and learned more about it's services.
The second day of the Orientation Days started with a team-building session with the aim to get to know each other better. The programme was followed by a presentation about Hungary and the Hungarian cultuture and a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. The Orientation days ended with the team building programme of the Local Erasmus Student Network (ESN) on 12 September.
