Pig Slaughtering

The Student Government of the Eszterházy Károly Egyetem Gyöngyösi Károly Róbert Campus organized a traditional Hungarian program, called pig slaughtering.

Hungarian and foreign students alike actively participated in the event.
Cultivating traditions, team-building in the student dorms and forging the students of the campus into a community were the most important goals of the pig slaughtering. The Student Government of the Károly Róbert Campus has been organizing this program for eight years.
The students of the campus weren't only spectators, they also ground, seasoned and baked meat and stuffed sausages.

It was a great experience for the foreign students. They could meet a tradition, which has hundreds of years of history in the Hungarian culture. Some of them had already taken part at home in an event like the pig slaughtering, but most of them have never seen anything similar to this. They tried grinding meat and filling sausages.
During the day students could taste pork rinds, roasted bacon, ham and several types of sausages too.
